Lightstone has been awarded the 2007 NMA Online Banking and Personal Finance Web Effectiveness Award for its work to create Alliance & Leicester's online banking platform, MyBank.

"Working closely with Alliance & Leicester, Lightstone targeted the requirements of the bank's online customer base and created an offering which directly addressed those needs.  Specifically incorporating an industry leading authentication technology to address users' fears over security, Lightstone worked closely with the bank to create tools to demystify the changes made to familiar login facilities. The support team were also educated to ensure customer satisfaction."

David Simpson, Head of Client Services at Lightstone, commented:

"The number one fear in the world of online banking, for both the customer and the operator, is the threat of compromised security.  In this climate, Alliance & Leicester wanted to employ new measures to combat online security threats without sacrificing usability or functionality.  This enhanced offering has already helped to enlarge its online user base, and increase the range of transactions users are prepared to carry out online."

Andy Muddimer, Alliance & Leicester, added:

"A customer satisfaction survey found that 90% of customers rated the security measures as good or excellent, and 83% confirmed they would not enter their online PIN without first seeing their personalised phrase and image that is now provided as part of the upgrade.

The judges were impressed with the implementation of the technology, praising Lightstone for delivering the innovative project on budget."
