Budget Planner

The Customer

For this project we worked closely with Yorkshire Building Society's e-commerce team.

The Need

Yorkshire Building Society prides itself on great customer service, and in order to emphasise the importance of careful budgeting, and subsequently saving, the Society wanted to provide their customers, and anyone else interested, with an online application to monitor monthly budgets.

The Solution

Working in close partnership with the e-commerce team, Lightstone's client services team analysed the brief and through a series of workshops, detailed the required functionality of the budget planner.  As part of the project's requirements gathering phase, the Society emphasised that the Budget Planner was to be a customer service, and not a data-gathering exercise.

Ultimately it was decided that a Flash-based offline application would be more suitable for customers to facilitate quick and easy management of their finances.

The Flash Actionscript application stores personal data securely on users' machines, and as well as being made available online, will also be made available on CDROM to attract the widest possible audience.
