DQ & Guidelines

The Customer

Having been selected by the BBC as an approved supplier, Lightstone was approached by the 'Delivering Quality' (DQ) team, part of the BBC's Technology Group. The DQ team are responsible for establishing quality criteria to which all suppliers to the BBC must adhere.

The Need

Having improved back office systems at the BBC, the design templates originally built for the Delivery Quality area of the website were no longer aligned to the rest of the website.

The design brief provided by the BBC requested that the important content of this area should be clearly structured and provided with a clear navigation to make the content on this mass media website more readable and easier to get to!  The required template designs needed to flow with the rest of the BBC site, whilst still maintaining a stronger visual identity to highlight its presence.

The Solution

Lightstone's creative design team designed and supplied a selection of attractive, functional templates catering for the DQ and Guidelines pages - both landing and internal pages.

These templates were rigorously tested to comply with the BBC's stringent build standards, and were tested for accessibility standards as well as a very extensive cross-browser compatibility list.

Whilst being a fairly small design project, the delivery of the project exemplified Lightstone's ability to design usable, attractive webpage templates which adhered to the BBC's demanding guidelines.
